WORMOUT GEL A NEW APPROACH TO YOUR OLD PROBLEM
Written by Dr Tony Gestier
All bird breeders realize, worming birds is a serious job. New Wormout Gel offers you a broad spectrum wormer in a gel formula which can be used in all situations.
In a new pump pack for easy dosing Wormout Gel combines two well known wormers into a gel formula. The pump accurately delivers a two ml dose.
Oxfendazole and Praziquantel are the actives in Wormout Gel. They are recognized as two of the safest wormers available and their combination covers all the major worm species found in birds. Many wormers are either too narrow in their action for your birds or they have a small safety margin which puts them at risk every time you worm. When you worm 3- 4 time yearly, you shouldn't need to be worried that you might kill birds with the wormer. Likewise, if you go to the trouble of worming your birds you want to know that the job is right. Wormout Gel provides an easy solution to your problem.
Worms have been a problem in birds as long as we have kept them. That situation will not change! Until we find a way of vaccinating for worms ( the ultimate solution to the problem ) you will have to continue to use a wormer. Bird keepers vary in their preferred method of worming. Many like to Crop administer the wormer. With Wormout Gel, a 1 mL syringe is filled with the gel, crop needle attached and away you go. The dosage is small ( 0.05 mL per 100 g) so regurgitation is not a problem.
For those who worm in the water, simply mix the gel in clean drinking water. The bird should have access to the worm solution for a minimum of two days. As you know, birds vary in their water consumption with the temperature, so in really cold weather you may have to leave the solution in the water for 3-4 days.
Worm out gel can be mixed in any food consumed by the birds. Again, a small dose rate is an advantage. Simply mix 0.05 mls of gel per 100 grams bogy weight of bird in the cage. Make sure all the food is consumed within 24 hours.
Worm out gel is available in 50 gram and 100 gram pump packs. Choose the size that best meets your needs.
