Enrofloxacin 10% will treat a wide range of bacterial infections in birds. Can also be used to treat respiratory problems, liver, urinary tract, and some skin infections, as well as infections from wounds. Easy to give in the drinking water.
This medication belongs to a class of antibiotics known as fluoroquinolones and is not effective against infections caused by viruses, fungi, or parasites.
Dosage on bottle is for birds.
All avian species. Can be used on small animals but the dosage will be different than what is on the bottle as these directions are for birds.
Cats use with caution.
For bacterial infections, treat 5-7 days, Salmonella, and e-coli treat for 7-10 days.
Mix 2 ml per 1 quart of water and give for 4 days at this rate then for the remaining days mix 1 ml per quart of water and give for the remaining days.
Be sure and mix fresh daily. Remove all calcium as calcium can bind to the drug and limiting its effectiveness. When giving to small animals avoid giving dairy products as this has calcium. And the dosage will be different than what is on the bottle.
Do not give to young birds 1 to 21 days old. and do not give to birds producing eggs or meat for human consumption.
May see a lack of appetite, and if you observe any other behavior changes stop the medication and seek veterinarian help.
