Health Articles / Diet Suggestions

The Birdcare Company uses many unique ingredients in its products that we believe mean that our diets are superior to those of other bird food manufacturers. Our products are very comprehensive (the pet diets suggested below incorporate over 50 different nutrients and health supporting nutricines). This makes them easy to use as we have done all the hard work.

We have three basic diets for pet birds. All use seed as the base supply of protein and energy. Try to use seed mixtures appropriate to the species you keep. The greater the variety the better. Wild birds don't eat dry seeds like this so our supplements are designed to bring these simple and cost effective seeds up to the quality of the green, sappy seeds and other foods that wild birds eat.

There are a number of articles in this pet section that you may wish to read. We also suggest that you look at 'Diets as good as the wild' as this explains the underlying philosophy behind our products. There are also useful sections on sick birds and breeding that you may find interesting.

If you have a really fusser feeder read the 'Sunflower Junkies' article.

And if you have any questions please feel free to contact our various advice services. Please restrict your enquiries to issues of health nutrition or breeding. We are happy to offer free advice in these areas but we cannot deal with general bird keeping enquiries:
